Mission Statement
The Maumelle Community Centers’ purpose is to promote a safe and enjoyable recreation experience for every member of our community. All staff, equipment programs and services will reflect professionalism and the highest standards associated with the Maumelle Parks and Recreation Department.
Maumelle Community Center Objectives
Rules & Regulations
- Anyone wishing to use the Community Center gym, walking track, health club, or Aquatic Center must purchase a membership or pay the appropriate daily fees.
- If you buy a day pass for the Community Center and want to utilize the Aquatic Center, you must pay for another day pass, as these are two separate facilities.
- Memberships are good from the date of purchase until December 31st of current year. The Aquatic Center expires on Labor Day. Family passes may include members of the immediate family living at the same address ONLY.
- Guests are limited to two (2) per member (except for private or special functions) and must register at the front desk upon arrival and pay the daily user fee. Maumelle residents are NOT considered guests.
- A membership key tag card or other form of identification is required to check out equipment. The owner of ID being held is responsible for the equipment checked out.
- Food and drinks are allowed in designated areas ONLY.
- The Community Center is a 'smoke-free' facility.
- Children age 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult age 18 and older. No school children are allowed in the Center during school hours.
- Individuals caught fighting will automatically be suspended for one week. A repeated offense will result in suspension from the Community Center and all amenities for one year.
- Vehicles are to be parked in specified areas only (including motorcycles and bicycles). Parking in entrance access ways will not be tolerated.
- The Director and designated staff have the right to suspend anyone violating rules from the Center.
- Anyone violating state or local laws on Parks and Recreation property will be reported to the Department of Public Safety.
Weight Room-Health Club Rules
- The health club facilities are available during normal Community Center hours on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Use of the facility is limited to ages 15 and up. Individuals ages 13-14 may use the facility only under parental supervision. Ages 12 and under are prohibited.
- Those wishing to use the weight room must have valid pass B, F scanned at top or bottom desk to enter the weight room.
- Alcohol, smoking, food, and drinks are prohibited.
- Lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Staff members should be contacted for assistance or instruction regarding equipment.
Discipline Procedures for Members
The procedures listed below should be used as a guide when taking disciplinary actions resulting from infractions of Community Center rules and regulations. As in many aspects of work here, personal judgment should still play a significant role in the administration of discipline.
1. Discipline Records
A Disciplinary Action Record has been prepared for use by the Center employees. Any employee issuing a suspension should enter all necessary information into the record. It is extremely important that this record is kept up to date and accurate. A section is also provided in the record to enter detailed accounts of serious incidents.
2. Warnings
Persons guilty of minor violations (running, excessive noise, loitering, etc.) should receive one verbal warning. Failure to heed verbal warnings, repeated minor violations, or a disrespectful or abusive response to a verbal warning should result in a suspension of 1-7 days.
3. Suspensions
Persons receiving suspension are banned from the Community Center grounds for the entire period of the suspension. This includes the swimming pool, skate park, and parking lot.
4. Indefinite Suspensions
Persons receiving an indefinite suspension are banned from the Community Center grounds until arrangements are made with the Director for their return. In the case of a minor, a conference including the Director and the parents of the suspended party will be required. An employee issuing an indefinite suspension should enter an account of the incident in the section provided for that purpose in the Disciplinary Action Record.
5. Equipment Loss or Damage
Any person causing the loss or destruction of Community Center equipment or damage to Community facilities should be suspended until arrangements are made with the Director to replace the equipment or repair any damage. If the damage or loss is intentional, the Director may impose an additional suspension, which would begin at the time reparations are made.
6. Disciplinary Guidelines
If you are unsure of exactly what action to take in a particular situation, contact your supervisor. When taking disciplinary actions, you should attempt to make a person aware of what they have done and why you are responding with disciplinary action.
Policies
MEMBERSHIP POLICY
Memberships and day passes allow access to full use of all amenities within the facility. Pictures will be taken at the time of membership registration and added to the member's profile. Amenities include a full-size basketball court, fitness center with cardio/weight machines, and locker rooms with showers (bring your own lock). Annual memberships include three (3) guest passes per month. Guests and day pass users must complete paperwork, sign a waiver, and be 18 or older. A parent/guardian must sign for members under 18 and remain on-site if the child is under 11. Members must accompany their guests at all times. Guests cannot be left unattended, and members cannot access areas reserved for programs, events, or rentals.
CANCELLATION
The Center may cancel programs, leagues, or events due to low enrollment, weather, or safety concerns. Members will be notified at least one hour before.
REFUNDS
Refunds are given only if the Center cancels or if at least 48 hours' notice is given. The Director must approve refunds. Cash refunds will be issued by check; credit refunds to the card on file, unless expired/closed. Allow 10 business days for checks, 3–5 days for cards. No refunds once a session begins. All discount ticket sales are final unless canceled by the Center.
PHOTO POLICY
The Parks and Recreation Department takes photos of program participants, city events, members, and/or visitors. These photos are for Maumelle Parks and Recreation use only and may appear on flyers, publications, and social media outlets.

All persons entering must check in at the front or lower desk and verify membership with a key tag or name, or be an approved program/rental participant.
